Smith, who is from the Houston area, and 23 other of the brightest young players in the U.S. and abroad have signed to play in a new basketball league — Overtime Elite — which launched in March and is part of Overtime, a media company that started in 2015 with an app that featured highlights of amateur basketball

What BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF will bring to Big 12 basketball when they join the conference

Losing Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC may be crushing for the Big 12 from the perspectives of financial and football strength, but with reigning national champion Baylor and blue blood Kansas still around, losing the Sooners and Longhorns won’t be as devastating on the hardwood. But how will the additions of BYU from the WCC and Cincinnati, Houston and UCF from the AAC impact the conference’s standing in the college basketball landscape?

BYU and Houston accepted their invitations within hours of receiving them, and by the end of the day all four universities announced

The Big 12 is slowly becoming anything but “Big” or “12” (well, really, 10).

247Sports’ Chip Brown reported on Thursday that both Oklahoma and Texas will inform the conference on Monday they will not renew when the league’s grants of rights expire in 2025, which sets in motion the chance to join the SEC.

The Sooners and Longhorns look to join the ranks of the SEC — something that might not be exactly destined to happen. Should OU and Texas apply to become members, a vote from the SEC would be required to get them to join. Should three
