The Premier League has announced it will donate automated external defibrillators to more than 2,000 grassroots football sites in the wake of Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

Pro basketball league in Canada will offer players Bitcoin salaries

The Canadian Elite Basketball League will be allowing players from its seven teams to accept a portion of their salaries in Bitcoin starting next week. 

According to a Thursday announcement, the Canadian Elite Basketball League, or CEBL, has partnered with Toronto-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitbuy to convert part of basketball players’ existing salaries from Canadian dollars to Bitcoin (BTC) on request. The league said it will arrange for the funds to be delivered to the players’ personal crypto wallets.

Premier League clubs report first fall in revenue amid coronavirus impact | Football News

Coronavirus restrictions saw Premier League clubs report a fall in revenue for the first time, according to new figures from finance company Deloitte for the 2019-20 season.

The lack of matchday spectators coupled with a rebate and delay affecting some broadcast income saw revenue fall around 13 per cent, although the 20 top-flight clubs still brought in a combined £4.5billion.

A cumulative pre-tax loss of almost £1bn was also the largest in Premier League history and almost five times the previous season’s £200m figure as the true financial cost of the pandemic becomes clear.

Media company Overtime has selected Atlanta to host its basketball league that will pay teen players over $100,000 a season. The company is also constructing a new building for the games.

Overtime Elite, which will exclusively feature high-school-level players between the ages of 16 and 18, released the rendering of a 103,000-square-foot complex in Atlanta’s Atlantic Station section. It said players will be housed on the campus, which will include personal living space and room for education courses. The project is expected to be complete by OTE’s debut in September.
