Teen disqualified from swim competition over glucose monitor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A Colorado Springs swimmer has filed a federal discrimination complaint against the Colorado High School Activities Association after being disqualified from a swim competition over his glucose monitor.

Sixteen-year-old Ethan Orr is a competitive swimmer for Coronado High School. He qualified for the state championships and had already competed in two events during the June competition when a CHSAA referee came up and inquired about his arm monitor.

A teenager with excellent swimming skills in Stockbridge, Georgia, recently saved a toddler from drowning in a swimming pool over Mother’s Day weekend.

Overtime selects Atlanta for teen basketball league that pays $100,000

Media company Overtime has selected Atlanta to host its basketball league that will pay teen players over $100,000 a season. The company is also constructing a new building for the games.

Overtime Elite, which will exclusively feature high-school-level players between the ages of 16 and 18, released the rendering of a 103,000-square-foot complex in Atlanta’s Atlantic Station section. It said players will be housed on the campus, which will include personal living space and room for education courses. The project is expected to be complete by OTE’s debut in September.

Bourbon teen drowns while swimming in Meramec River | St. Louis News Headlines

FRANKLIN COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A teenager from Bourbon, Missouri drowned while swimming in the Meramec River Sunday night.

William Bergner Jr. was attempting to swim across the Meramec River near the campground boat access when he got exhausted and went under the water’s surface around 6:30 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital later in the evening.

No other information has been released.
